Well we’ve attended several wedding fairs already, hosted by the fabulous Wedding Affair team and Brides Up North “Top Blog for Northern Brides”. There are several more still in the offing too:

Hotel Du Vin, Harrogate – Sunday 24th March, 12-4pm
Nostell Priory with Brides Up North – Sunday 7th April, 12-4pm
The National Railway Museum, York with Brides Up North – Sunday 21st April, 12-4pm
Goldsborough Hall, with The Wedding Affair – Sunday 23rd June, 12 – 4pm
Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa, Leeds – also Sunday 23rd June, 11-4pm

We hope these are as successfula s the first ones of the year, we have had a busy few months and it looks to be staying that way! If you have any enquiries, get in touch as soon as you can so that we an plan ahead to manufacture your stationery in plenty of time. Love is in the Air!

Well, it’s that time of year isn’t it? I hope lots of lovely boys out there popped the question yesterday to the love of their lives!! It has already been a busy year for White Petal so far and we are hoping this continues as we attend some more of the fantastic Brides Up North Wedding Exclusives and some of the Wedding Affair’s excellent events to showcase our laser cut stationery.

There are a couple of designs that haven’t yet made it onto the website but have proven very popular to the lucky people who have had a sneak peek at the recent wedding fairs we’ve been too, one is the Deep Rooted Love design – and it is definitely one of my personal favourites. I hope to be updating the website with these next week.

In the meantime, come and see us this Sunday 17th February at Allerton Castle with Brides Up North or at the Thorpe Park Hotel and Spa, Leeds.

2013 Wedding Fairs

So, I have chosen and booked a select few wedding fairs to attend during the first 6 months of 2013. I’m really looking forward to them and I should have plenty of new ideas to show off as the season gets underway. I have mainly chosen fairs organised by The Wedding Affair and Brides Up North, this is because these ladies really know how to put on a good show – with goody bags, canapes and glasses of bubbly for attendees I know that you’ll enjoy the experience at these fairs!

I can’t wait to speak to loads of new brides to be!

Autumn/Winter 2012

We have had our First Anniversary and we are celebrating it with a super-busy season!!

After attending numerous wedding fairs in some stunning locations this autumn we met some fantastic clients and loads of people who were very complimentary about our products. Photographs often don’t show the full effect a laser cut design can have so it is great to meet brides and grooms at the fairs so they can see for themselves our range of designs, the flexibilty of our products and also how we can personalise invitations to suit them.

Our clients this season have come from far and wide and there have been all sorts of personalised designs produced too. It makes us so happy when we show a design proposal for the first time and the bride and groom love it!!

We currently have just 3 fairs confirmed for 2013, but we intend to have many more booked within the next couple of weeks. Our first will be at The York Marriott, Tadcaster Road, York on Sunday 20th January. It is organised by the fabulous ladies of The Wedding Affair who always put on an exciting fair with lots of freebies for attendees including a goody bag sponsored by Molton Brown!! It’s the perfect fair for all those lucky people who will get to say ‘YES!’ on Christmas Day this year!!!

Our aim in 2014 is to keep up the regular wedding fairs so that more and more people get to see the quality of our products and it is likely that we will get new premises to work from as this office/studio is rapidly being out grown! We will keep you update! In the meantime, have a fantastic festive season and we hope to hear from you soon!

Award Finalists!!

We have just found out that we are Finalists in the North of England Wedding Awards!! Winners will be announced on 7th September at a Gala Dinner in York. I’m keeping everything crossed that we have a good outcome from the awards, it would really give us a massive boost – as a small business in this industry any kind of boost is well received!

The awards are sponsored by Brides Up North, a brilliant wedding blog by Julia Braime based in Leeds. I have a couple of wedding fairs booked with her over the Autumn and I know how supportive she is of small businesses too – I’m really looking forward to working with her and the Brides Up North Wedding Exclusives team!

How exciting!!!!

I have just been researching and booking our exhibition spaces for the Autumn season of fairs. So far we have got 2 booked with The Wedding Affair ladies for this year and another 2 for next year – they were the organisers of the first ever wedding fair we attended at York Marriott, and they have some fabulous venues lined up! Thorpe park Hotel & Spa – Wedding Showcase

What a nice day. Thorpe Park had set up and decorated their ceremony room beautifully and half of their function room was set up for a wedding breakfast, the other half was set up for an evening celebration. The staff at Thorpe Park were very organised and helpful and the rooms looked really nice. Lots of brides and grooms came through, enjoying the wine tasting that was put on and I got to chat to some lovely people about their wedding stationery too.

All in all a successful day and I hope to be invited back for the next one! Thank you Rebecca, Thorpe Park event manager, for a great day! Well done!

Birthday Week

Well, I am 31 on Friday… and I feel like my 30′s are going to be the best decade of my life yet! So far I’ve got married, started my own business and now we have our own doggie too. Tilly is a retired brindle greyhound, and she has settled in to being a pet rather nicely! If you think you can rehome one of these gorgeous hounds visit the Retired Greyhound Trust, they have branches all round the country and are always looking for good homes for an endless supply of unwanted racers…

I have a wedding fair at Lazaat Hotel in Cottingham on Sunday 25th March, fromm 11pm – 3pm. I will be showcasing the new ‘Mehndi’ design to all the visitors there. Pictures will be on the website soon if you can’t make the wedding fair! Hope to hear from you soon!

A Weekend of Wedding Fairs

Well it was certainly a busy one! On Saturday 28th January I attended The Light in Leeds Wedding Fair. It was a lovely atmosphere and there were lots of lovely brides and grooms to be having a look at what White Petal could offer. It was also the first outing for a few new designs and products which seemed to go down really well with the crowd. I must thank Amy and the girls at UK Fashion Events Ltd for allowing me to book at such a late stage!

I have been testing the market with some paper bunting, designed to match the stationery ranges we have and I got some great feedback. I’ve also been working with Gemma Jane Designs to create some personalised bunting so keep an eye out for that too!

On Sunday 29th I took part in The Grange Hotel Wedding Fair in York. Again, lots of lovely couples taking an interest. It was so nice to have the time to chat to people about their ideas and show them the sorts of things White Petal could offer them. I want to thank Adrienne for putting on a lovely exhibitor lunch and all her help.

So far there have been alot of follow up enquiries and I’ve been able to chat with people in more detail about their ideas, so hopefully I’ll be very busy soon!!!
